The second winner of 2017 was “The Flying Lovers ofVitebsk” by Daniel Jamieson, directed by Emma Rice, produced by Kneehigh, UK. The play was seen and loved both in Los Angeles and the Spoleto, USA Festival in 2016.
The play reveals the stories of Marc Chagall, his first love and his art. The background of war in both Belarus and Europe, the conflicts between his love of Bella and his art are revealed in the complex mix of music, text, song, choreography and a drop dead gorgeous set design.
